W. Cagney McCormick
Cagney McCormick — Mac — zealously represents Texans in personal injury cases throughout the state.
Mac is a native of the South Dallas area. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated in three years with dual degrees in Government and American Studies. After graduation, Mac joined Dell Inc. where he quickly became a top sales representative in the company’s non-commercial department. He attended evening classes at St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, while still working full time at Dell. In addition to managing a full-time corporate job and night school, Mac completed a thesis focusing on cyber security law — a thesis that was later published by Southern Methodist University School of Law (Link). He spent any extra time working in the school’s Center for Terrorism Law. Mac graduated, after four grueling years, with a Certificate of Concentration in Criminal Studies after his law school approved his thesis.
After being admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2012, Mac joined a large Personal Injury Firm in San Antonio. He began as their first pre-litigation attorney with no staff and an office created out of a conference room. However, his commitment to success was quickly noticed. Mr. McCormick was promoted to non-commercial managing attorney and then commercial managing attorney soon there after. Due to his large volume of large settlements, his co-workers gave him the nickname “Rainmaker” for his aggressive negotiating strategy. Over the years he has continued to be aggressive and he has even had Geico Insurance file a petition claiming that he led a “campaign of intimidation” against their company because he fought “too hard” for his clients. Mac believes in fighting for every client like he would fight for his own family member. Mac has successfully tried dozens of trials in Texas over the past five years ranging from company vehicle accidents to dangerous premises cases. Mac has even had the honor to argue on behalf of his clients in District Courts in Iowa and Oklahoma regarding wrongful death claims.
Mac returned home to the DFW area, after nearly 12 years away, and joined Bailey & Galyen, P.C. as Chief Operating Officer of their Injury departments.
He believes that injured Texans deserve the best medical treatment possible. The firm strives to give our clients the best customer service in Texas. Mac believes in constant communication, and that an aggressive negotiation strategy with the insurance companies is the only way to reach your desired results.
